Flavors you can choose from! (New edition)

Black honey (Kuromitsu) flavor!

Kuromitsu is not brown sugar. It’s a type of syrup that is often used on warabi mochi and other Japanese sweets. This flavor pairs well with the white chocolate and wafer combo of a KitKat. As much as the name portrayed the taste was largely appeal to Mayple Syrup, and had a lovely slight burnt sugar taste to it. This paired with the creamy white chocolate made for a honey and sweet yogurt type experience which is extremely delightful to taste. I would really recommend this to everyone out there.

Hojicha flavor!

Hojicha is a popular roasted type of tea in Japan, it’s different to Matcha and other types of Japanese green teas, in the sense that Hojicha is roasted green tea leaves over charcoal on a very high temperature until the leaves turn reddish-brown. Once brewed, Hojicha has a reddish-brown colour, it’s less bitter than green tea due to the loss of catechin content during the roasting process. But it has a very pleasant taste and aroma, and Hojicha was the inspiration for this new limited edition and VERY RARE regional flavor of Kit Kat!

Annin Doufu flavor!

Inspired from a popular Chinese dessert called ‘Annin dofu’ in Japanese romaji, the dessert is called ‘Xingren dofu’ in Chinese and literally translates to ‘Almond tofu’, but often it is also called ‘almond jelly’ or ‘almond pudding’. The Annin dofu flavor in the white choco coating was just enough to shine through and cleanse your palate, it wasn’t too subtle, nor was it too over-powering, you can still taste the sweet white choco too.
And the wafers, well, they were lovely and crispy as usual, with more choc between the wafers. Very recommended!

Zunda flavor!

Zunda is mashed green soy beans (or cookededamame) and this particular cuisine is a specialty of the northern Tohoku area. In terms of flavor, this is a sweet white-chocolate-based bar. Overall, Kit Kat Zunda is slightly sweet, toothsome and satisfying.

Cinnamon cake flavor!

This kitkat has white chocolate coating infused with cinnamon sprinkles. The sweetness of the white chocolate mixed well with the cinnamon sprinkles inside. It’s not necessarily spicy, but it gave quite a spice in my experience. A surprising flavor since cinnamon is rarely used in Asian cooking. These kit kats had little crunchy bits embedded inside, like cinnamon crystals. These did taste mildly of cinnamon, the brown kind, not the spicy one. The crunch of the little crystals is really great!

Beni imo flavor!

Beni-Imo flavored Kit Kat, otherwise known as an Okinawa tradition; he Purple sweet potato. The subtle flavor of purple sweet potato is nicely infused into the milk chocolate. This is the Kyushu island regional specialty. It tastes pretty much exactly like the real thing, which is good news because “beni imo” is one of the tastier Japanese sweets available.

Strawberry flavor!

This sparkling strawberry Kit Kat crunchy wafer bar is coated in a rich and creamy strawberry flavored white chocolate, which offers up a perfectly balanced treat, with enough crunch and enough deliciously creamy chocolate to satisfy any Kit Kat lover. If you’re a fan of strawberries, chocolates and in desperate need of a break, we have just the thing for you with our newly arrived Strawberry KitKat.
